It just don't happen down the Villa |
|
I was having a chat tonight with Fred The Shed and he wondered why the Fickle down at the Four Sheds can never welcome back old Stars with a warm round of applause. As we saw tonight with David Beckham genuine supporters will give respect to old favourites in fact down at the Blues it’s something we are take a great deal of pride in.
When you support a SMALL club you have to accept that if you ever get a genuine star playing for you that they will be leaving sooner rather than later and this has always been the case down at the Four Sheds so why the need to Boo the returning star.
The treatment of recent stars like David Platt and Dwight Yorke was in Fred’s words disgusting, yes the likes of Gareth Barry deserve an amount of abuse because just like Robbie Savage down at Blues they basically lied their way out of the door.
But when you look at the likes of Ugo, Southgate and Boateng all leaving for Middlesborough it just hammers home the point, the bigger clubs will always steal your best players but why not welcome them back on their return.
Perhaps one of the fickle would like to explain why as a supporter of a FEEDER club they seem unable to welcome back genuine stars.

I tell you what Kev the likes of Lennon, Wright Phillips, Young and Walcott may look exciting running down the wing but when it comes to an end product Beckham must play.
The guy is a genius with the ball at his feet, forget the 4 by 4 relay boys I have mentioned above this is the World Cup not the Olympics.
With Rooney’s head on fire we need quality cross after quality cross not the drivel those four provide.
He was simply superb AGAIN tonight.

You agree with something i say "without a One Line afterwards"
I agree though.... and all being well Fergie will bring him back for his last year or 2
Look at Giggs/Scholes/G.Neville/V-D-Sar they can still do it if used correctly during a long Season...
Lets See what `El Peko` has to say about his home Club

I was just thinking the same kind of thing Clapper...
The other young flyers, couldnt cross a road between them. The balls Beckham was firing in, were causing problems, great crosses. Ball after ball.
As for the other little flyers, they normally fly past the defender, then, annoyingly, find the feet of the oppostion.!!
Becks plays for me.
AC were shocking, only Seedorf still got it. the others, dear me. An AC are 2nd in league...??
Surely Italy cant win world Cup.....
I must say, that was a wonderful gesture by the fans. Great moment. It gave me goose pimples.!!
"Fergie, sign him up" and the "Boo`s".............

Deanno
My bet is open ended mate if you want some just sign up, all of my Four Sheds regulars can’t afford to play anymore so I welcome new blood.
I was hoping Massive would play because he likes a bet and I could do with a week away this year.
Every live Sky Match involving the Four Sheds is playable and the rules are simple.
When Ashley Young gets the ball if he beats the last man and whips in a cross avoiding the first defender I give you a Tenner.
If Ashley Young Don’t beat the last man or his cross fails to miss the first defender or he crosses into row Z then you give me a Tenner.
I have to warn you though it may cost you a good £100.00 per game.
Come you Fickle followers place them bet’s

Well that wasnt fun viewing!!
If you dont take your chances when Rooney is in the opposition, you arent going to win games. We should have been 3 or 4 up in the first leg, and the tie would have been over.. but Huntelaar is a waste of space.
As for last night, i think you will see that Pirlo and Beckham are still World Class.... we really missed Antonini & Pato (who will be World player of the year within 5 years) and Nesta.
Oh well, we got further than i expected us to, and are going well in the league....... and got beaten fair and square by one player!!

As i sat looking at my Sky Bet prior to the game, a special bet of 'Rooney To Score First Goal With A Header - 10/1' pops up...
I disregarded this and thought he possibly couldnt score yet another header...Instead i opted for Mr. Klaus Jan Huntelaar for the first goal at odd's of 12/1..
How wrong i was...gutted!

There,s only one thing with this Beckham Hype, He Cannot beat a player, as soon as he gets the ball he releases it, how often have you seen him take a guy on, fair play though i wish he had scored

In previous games this season I may tend to agree with you, but that quotes a cop out and surprises me from you...or does it?
I think its impossible to say that during either leg, or over the 2,that Utd were a 1 man team. Foolish.
What about Valencia and his major contributions, or Fletchers and Parks for example.
You certainly didnt get beat by just 1 man Lee....you got battered by a far superior football team.
When a former world player of the year quotes as saying that their "shirts" will scare Utd alone, you just know they are a skeleton of a team with very little self belief themselves. Ridiculous statement and 1 Im sure Fergie laughed at and used to an advantage prior to kick off.
A great club of tradition for sure, but also 1 that needs an overhaul of players before they can be taken as serious european competition. Maybe a cup for yourselves and Liverpool can be invented that will fool you both however you wish to be fooled nowadays.
Best league in the world.?......lets take a look at the quarter final teams shall we......again!!!

Kev, honestly, if Utd didnt have Rooney, and played say... Berbatov... do you think they would have won the tie?!?!
I for one dont. Utd had very little to offer in Milan, and could and should have been 4 down at half time.. then Rooney changes the game single handedly.... with two goals no one else at Utd would have scored. (to go with the luckiest goal ever by Scholes)!!
The Old Trafford leg would have been a totally different affair if we had been leading, Leonardo would have played a more industrius midfield/forward line to get bodies behind the ball - The Italian Way... and frustrated Utd.
In summary - if Milan had taken their chances in thr first half of the first leg, we'd have gone through. Alternatively, if Rooney wasnt playing, we would have also gone through.
I stated on here a couple of months ago that id rather have Torres and Drogba in my side instead of Rooney... but he has definately changed my opinion. Its just a shame with the reliance on him and the volume of games (including Capello playing him the other night), that he may be peaking now, and be a shadow of this player by the time the world cup comes around.... (not that we have a chance of winning it anyway though!!)
